As evidence of commitment to the social housing sector, Celuform has issued a document that sets out the Company’s strategy for delivering Sustainability, Best Value, Partnering, and Environmental Management.
These four philosophies are progressive business concepts that are frequently confused because they are related. The Company has developed an integrated strategy that allows it to maximise the benefits from a sound environmental management system and pass them on to the client in the form of sustainable best practice techniques through the partnering procurement process. Celuform has a long record of serving the local authority, social housing and new build markets.
The publication, ‘Sustainability’ looks at the Company’s business philosophies and ongoing work on issues such as recycling, optimising resources, energy conservation, training, on time delivery, and packaging.
It is important that our social housing partners are aware of and can see how seriously we take sustainable partnering, our commitment to the principles of Local Agenda 21 and the Egan Review of Skills for the Sustainable Community.
The Sustainability brochure also sets out evidence of how PVC-ue has become the material of choice for many specifiers and installers, who now prefer it to timber, which is increasingly being recognised as a material which offers limited recycling opportunities. Cellular plastic products by contrast are highly traceable, last significantly longer, are recycleable, cheaper and quicker to install, in addition to requiring almost no maintenance. Timber production is also being increasingly criticised because it contributes to the production of ‘greenhouse gases’.
